I have spent years building technologies that serve the underserved. That meant engineering smart grids to mordernize water infrastructure and make it accessible. It meant digging into soil data, climate models, and real-time analytics to help smallholder farmers grow more, access the right tools, and feed nations. That work is vital. It still is.

But underneath it all, something more personal, more invisible, was brewing. A quieter storm: mental burnout, anxiety, stress and lots of self doubt – things many bold African youth and builders face, yet few talk about. If you’re building with purpose in this part of the world, you know the toll. You’ve felt it.
